Who We Are

Organized in 1959, the Springfield Area Human Resource Association (SAHRA) is a not-for-profit association serving Human Resource Professionals in the Springfield, MO area. Our organization is made up of more than 300 members representing a diverse group of leading area employers from a variety of industries including: education, entertainment, finance, government, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, non-profit, professional services, and retail.

SAHRA is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management. The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest HR professional society, representing nearly 325,000 members in more than 165 countries. For 75 years, the Society has been the leading provider of resources serving the needs of HR professionals and advancing the practice of human resource management. What We Do

SAHRA seeks to provide members with information about cutting edge issues in Human Resources and to create recognition for the Human Resources profession within our community.  SAHRA offers an array of opportunities for members to develop their professional skills through formalized educational programs, idea exchange, and professional networking. SAHRA is actively involved in the community and partners with area educational institutions to offer volunteer support to students and leaders who will make up our future workforce. SAHRA also supports and encourages its members to complete the certification requirements for the Human Resources professional designations through SHRM and the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).

The purpose of the SAHRA chapter is to ENGAGE, EQUIP, and EMPOWER the Human Resources community by strengthening those disciplines through professional development, education, and networking opportunities.
